Scuba diving at Cala Montjoi
If you're drawn to the sea or want a unique experience during your stay, scuba diving in Cala Montjoi is one of the most special options in the area. The diving area of the Bay of Roses stretches from Punta Falconera to Cap de Creus, passing through Cala Montjoi, a prime location for enjoying the underwater world of the Costa Brava.
Here you'll find a complete package for beginners, those looking to further their training, or those wanting to enjoy new dives: courses and introductory dives, equipment rental, various dive sites, and the support of the Montjoi Diving Center, located right on the beach. It's the perfect choice whether you're trying diving for the first time or you're already experienced and want to continue exploring the waters around Cap de Creus.
Courses and baptisms
Cap de Creus is an ideal setting to discover the underwater world and take your first steps in diving. Cala Montjoi offers a wide variety of official training courses for beginners and for divers who wish to advance towards higher certifications.
Among the available options are PADI courses such as Open Water, Advanced, and Rescue, 1- and 2-star courses from the Spanish Federation of Underwater Activities (FEDAS), as well as introductory dives from the beach or from the Montjoi boat. All of this is done with the accompaniment of specialized instructors, so you can enjoy diving in Roses with confidence and safety.
Diving equipment rental
In Cala Montjoi you can also rent scuba diving equipment, a very practical option if you don't have your own gear or prefer not to travel with it during your vacation. This way you can focus on the experience and make the most of your time at sea.
This service is designed for clients and certified divers who want to enjoy a dive in the waters of the Cap de Creus Natural Park with greater comfort. It's a simple way to access scuba diving on the Costa Brava without sacrificing comfort or flexibility during your stay.
Immersion points
Diving in this area means discovering a rich marine environment. Sessile fauna, such as sponges, gorgonians, and coral, brings color and life to the seabed, while the free-swimming fauna, including fish, crustaceans, and nudibranchs, makes each dive a truly special experience. Among the most striking species are groupers, dentex, gilthead seabream, and barracuda, which are very common in the reserve.
The dive center is located south of Cap de Creus, at the point where Cap Norfeu begins, one of the protected areas of the natural park. From there, you can reach three of the most interesting dive sites on the Costa Brava in about five minutes by boat: Gat, Paret del Bisbe, and Punta del Mero. Furthermore, during the season, between April and October, buoys are installed at all dive sites to facilitate the activity and protect the seabed by eliminating the need for anchors.
Montjoi Diving Center
Montjoi Diving Center is the perfect starting point for enjoying scuba diving in Cala Montjoi with comfort and professional guidance. Located right on the beach, it allows you to benefit from the support of expert instructors and easily access the entire diving experience from within the resort itself.
Furthermore, the center has the necessary infrastructure to guarantee the safety of divers, including the Montjoi vessel, a charging station, and a facility for replenishing and updating some of the diving equipment each season. It also works with PADI, FEDAS and FFESSM certifications, an important factor both for beginners and for those looking to further their training.
